Weather-driven Advertising:
Transforming Data into Realtime Promotional Products


In 2016, IBM acquired the Weather Company, integrating it as a subsidiary of Watson & Cloud Platform to leverage and sell weather data for real-time advertising. Our internal design studio was tasked with creating advertising for IBM's partners with this data as well as launch one of the first chatbot advertising experiences: Watson Ads.

By leading the design of multiple mobile and web branded backgrounds, and crafting off-brand site and out-of-home advertising experiences, I had the opportunity to enhance the visibility and effectiveness of IBM's weather data-driven advertising. Specifically, designing for high-profile clients like Flonase and Theraflu allowed me to showcase the potential of targeted weather-based advertising, driving engagement and generating significant revenue through a well-executed, multi-million dollar campaign.
